Mario Gomez visits Besiktas in Munich

German hitman Mario Gomez, now playing for Stuttgart, paid a visit to his former club prior to their clash with Bayern Munich tonight.

Former Besiktas striker Mario Gomez paid a visit to his former teammates at the hotel they are staying in while in Munich. The German international had a memorable time as a Besiktas player and is still talked about among Black Eagle supporters.

Gomez decided to visit unannounced as to surprise his former club in a bid to cheer them up in what must be a stressful time. He spent time talking to the club’s players and staff as well as taking several photographs and wished everyone good-luck prior to leaving.

The 32-year-old spent the 2015/16 season at Besiktas on loan from Fiorentina. The striker scored 26 league goals in 33 appearances and made a huge impact on the club and in Turkish football.
