Sneijder: It wasn’t my decision to leave

The Dutch maestro recently revealed his untimely departure from Galatasaray wasn’t his decision.

Former Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder sat down for an interview with beIN Sports where he revealed some interesting facts including the reason for his departure from Galatasaray.

Sneijder, now playing for Qatari club Al-Gharafa, said he never wanted to leave the club and was disappointed with the way things ended.

“It was the biggest disappointment of my career, when I left, because I wasn’t ready to leave. I spent a lot of great years there and it wasn’t my decision to leave.

They made the decision. They took my number 10 shirt, gave it to someone else. I didn’t know about this until after I came back from holidays.

After I came back from the holidays and until the last day at the club, I was very disappointed because I could have given a lot more to the club, and I really wanted to give a lot more. But, sometimes others make decisions that you have to accept.”
