Cocu to receive €2m in compensation from Fener

Fener to pay Cocu compensation €2 million

The Turkish club will shell out close to €2 million to their former coach Phillip Cocu.

With the arrival of their new coach Ersun Yanal as of Friday, Fenerbahce will have to pay their former manager Phillip Cocu approximately €2 million in compensation as per their contractual obligation.

The Dutch coach was shown the door at the end of October after a disastrous start to the season, however, he was still officially the club’s manager, despite having been removed from the dug out.

His assistant Erwin Koeman was made the interim manager until the KOc administration could find a suitable replacement.

According to reports from Turkish media, Fenerbahce are going to have to cough up the large sum of money for firing Cocu just 4 months into his contract.
