Besiktas to develop youth in Europe

The Black Eagles have formed a partnership with one of their former players, Fabian Ernst, to train and develop players in Europe.

Turkish football giants Besiktas have signed a partnership deal with one of the club’s former players, Fabian Ernst, that will allow the club to train young players in various parts of Europe.

Ernst, a German former midfielder, has transitioned to coaching and developing players after retiring from playing professional football.

The club’s chairman, Fikret Orman, and Ernst signed an agreement at the club’s stadium, Vodafone Park in Istanbul last Friday.

During the press conference, Orman revealed that Ernst spends his time developing and training youth players as well as the fact that the former Besiktas player owns a Danish football club called Naestevd. Orman also announced that they will work together to expand their endevour to all parts of Europe.

“We plan to open training academies in various parts of Europe and Ernst will coordinate with them. We will recruit young players that have trained there to our professional team in teh future. Ernst said he already runs a school for young football players in Germany and has trained about 300 players. We have a significant pool of trainers from Germany and I believe Besiktas will be able to benefit from this,” Orman told reporters during the press conference on Friday.
