MKE Ankaragucu sign striker Aliou Badji on loan from Al Ahly

The Ankara-based football club have brought in striker Aliou Badji to their squad. The 23-year-old will spend the rest of the season on loan with the Super Lig minnows.

With the winter transfer window opened, there are bound to be players coming in and going out of a club, who seeks to strengthen their squad up for the rest of the campaign.

With little worries regarding the deadline, Turkish club MKE Ankaragucu have been able to bring in striker Aliou Badji on loan from Egyptian club Al Ahly, as confirmed by the club, with us casinos having covered odds regarding his potential destination.

The Senegal international moved to the Egyptian outfit in the last winter transfer window from the Austrian club Rapid Vienna for a fee believed to be around €2.00m.

The 23-year-old striker, who began his professional career with his hometown club Casa Sports, had no troubles adapting to life in Egypt as he was able to bag a goal and an assist on his league debut against Pyramids FC. The match ended 2-1.

Following the departure of head coach Rene Weiler, the coach who sanctioned his transfer to the club, the Senegalese was understood to have dropped down the pecking order for the Egyptian club and he was left out of the squad for the 2020/21 campaign.

His exclusion from the squad could be said to have been due to the return of Salah Mohsen, Mohamed Sherif, and Ahmed Yasser Ryan from their loan spells as well as the permanent signing of Walter Bwayla.

Last month, Al Ahly took to the media to conform to the fans that the Senegal international will be leaving for an unknown Turkish club before it was finally revealed to be MKE Ankaragucu.

Ankaragucu was able to bring in the 23-year-old striker with hopes of him firing them away from the relegation zone in the Turkish league as they currently sit in the 19th position with four points away from stirring clear of the zone.

MKE Ankaragucu previously were sitting in the 20th position in the league, a 1-0 victory against Kasimpasa on Thursday moved them up one rank in the league. The victory was claimed due to an own goal scored by Florent Hadergjonaj in the 16th minute of the game, and online casino Australia dropped some odds ahead of the game.

Badji becomes the club’s third signing during the winter transfer window and will be joining up with players like Joseph Paintsil, Assane Diousse, Michal Pazdan, Jonathan Bolingi, and Tiago Pinto.

Badji was instrumental in helping the Egyptian club complete a domestic treble in his only campaign with them, contributing four goals in 25 appearances.
