Ndiaye: Galatasaray fans don’t know

Badou Ndiaye spoke about his move to Stoke City and why he left Istanbul.

Galatasaray set a record last month by selling Badou Ndiaye to Stoke City for €16 million, the most they’ve ever gotten for a player. While, the player’s performances on the pitch were top notch, his desire to leave was not beacuse of sporting reasons.

When asked about the transfer, he explained; “I understand why Galatasaray fans were upset about a player leaving but they don’t know why.. What was important for me is that, on the pitch, I gave everything to the club. I always worked hard, I never caused problems. I think this is why the supporters like me. To leave Galatasaray was maybe one of the biggest decisions in my career.”

The Senegalese star continued, “I experienced financial difficulties. I was criticized because of the financial difficulties that I had but my sale was good for the club. I still love the Galatasaray supporters. Galatasaray is and always will be in my heart. I pray that they are successful. I hope Stoke City and Galatasaray both have good seasons. I really want this.”

The 27-year old had signed for Galatasaray in August of 2017 for €7.5 million from Osmanlispor and left just six months after signing a four-year contract.
