Trabzonspor sign three players on final day of transfer window

The Black Sea Storm have strengthened their squad with three players as they push for the domestic league title.

Turkish Super Lig giants Trabzonspor have completed the signing of three players on the final day of the January transfer window; Guilherme Costa Marques, Manoel Messias and Manuel Da Costa.

The club held a signing ceremony for all three players at Trabzonspor’s facilities in Trabzon on Friday.

Guilherme has been transferred from Portuguese club GDSC Alvarenga in exchange for €100,000, the club announced on Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on Friday.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder joins Trabzonspor a one-and-a-half-year loan after terminating his deal by mutual consent with his previous club, Yeni Malatyaspor, where he was also on loan.

He will earn €450,000 in wages for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season and €1.1 million for the 2020-2021 season.

Messias, on the other hand, has inked a two-and-a-half-year agreement with the club.

However, Trabzonspor have the option to terminate the contract at the end of the 2019-2020 season if they feel the player is not performing well.

Messias will receive a salary €400,000 until the end of the current season.

Should Trabzonspor exercise the contracted clause to continue with the player for a further two years, he will be paid €1.25 million per season for 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, respectively.

Meanwhile, Manuel Da Costa’s has signed a pay-as-you-play type of contract until the end of the current campaign.

According to the contract, the Portuguese defender, who was a free agent, will be paid €40,000 in wages and €25,000 per appearance.

Should he make a minimum of 10 appearances in the team’s starting eleven squads in either the Turkish Super Lig or Turkish Cup, his contract will be automatically extended for another season.

In that case, Da Costa will earn €450,000 for the 2020-2021 season and €4,000 per match appearance.

During the signing ceremony, it was revealed that Guilherme will wear the number 6 shirt while Da Costa has been the number 27 and Messias, 23.
