Eskisehirspor’s stadium gets a new name

Eskisehirspor have changed their new stadium’s name due to a new sponsor.

Eskisehirspor, who are currently playing in 1.Lig (First League), will have a new name for their stadium. Club president Halil Unal announced the decision today in front of reporters.

The new stadium was opened to the public in late October of 2016 and has a capacity of 34,930. It was previously called “New Eskisehir Stadium”. Under the new sponsorship agreement, the club have changed the name to “ETI Stadium”, after the food processing company, ETI. The deal will see the stadium retain the new name for the next 10 years.

The company is one of the biggest and well-established businesses in Turkey, producing millions of sweets, cookies, crackers and many other types of delicacies annually.

Club president Unal said he spoke with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding the name-change yesterday during Erdogan’s visit in Eskisehir.
