West Brom to bid €8m for Trabzon talent

Trabzonspor’s Okay Yokuslu is wanted by West Brom and a transfer is likely this summer, according to the player’s club.

Okay Yokuslu is a promising midfielder at Trabzonspor and the link with West Bromwich Albion does not seem to go away despite the January transfer window being closed for almost a month.

It’s not the first time the player has been linked with the English outfit. In season 2015/16, The Baggies contacted Trabzonspor about a possible transfer but the Turkish club were not interested in selling a player they considered important for the first-team. That didn’t deter West Brom, however, as they continued to keep tabs on him.

This past January, the English club tried again however their advances were rejected once again due to Trabzonspor’s unwillingness to sell the player halfway through the campaign. However, reports have come out claiming Trabzonspor have responded to West Brom, telling them to make the same offer again in the summer.

The initial bid was rumoured to be €8 million, a sum which Trabzonspor could use given their current financial predicament.

While Yokuslu has a contract with Trabzonspor until 2020, it’s unlikely he will remain at the club for long as once the summer rolls around, the club plan to cash in on their prized asset.

News outlet HaberTurk have claimed negotiations could start as early as this week.
