Garry Rodrigues continues his impressive form

Galatasaray’s winger Garry Rodrigues is attracting a lot of attention to himself this season for all the right reasons.

Cape Verde international Garry Rodrigues has been Galatasaray’s not-so-secret weapon next to Bafetimbi Gomis this season. So far in the campaign, he’s featured 22 times and scored 5 goals. He’s also been involved in almost all of Galatsaray’s attacking plays as he uses his speed to burst past opposition players.

Rodrigues has had an interesting career thus far having gone from the depths of Dutch amateur football to the sell-out stadiums of the Turkish Super Lig. The 27-year-old has been performing at a very high level this season for the first time in his career and has been attracting the attention of several English Premier League clubs including Newcastle United.

The most he’s achieved in his native Netherlands was, having signed for ADO Den Haag for one season where he didn’t feature in a single game before being shipped off to Eastern Europe and signing with Bulgarian outfit Levski Sofia. This was just three years ago when he was 24-years-old, an age many consider to be about the halfway point in a football players career.

Eventually, after finally showing his true potential, he’s found his way to Galatasaray for whom he signed last season from PAOK FC and his performances have gotten him praise after praise this season. So much so that Cim Bom are planning to cash in on him this summer after being linked with a €10 million move to England.
