Galatasaray left with one forward

Galatasaray are in a pinch at the moment as their main goalscorer Bafetimbi Gomis is the only experienced striker the team has.

After the unfortunate friendly-fire injuries from the weekend, Fatih Terim is left with just one forward in his team as they seek to be crowned Turkish Super Lig champions this season. Eren Derdiyok has been sidelined for at least a month with a serious injury which means Gomis is the only one left.

The manager has been asked by reporters if he is concerned and what he plans to do in response to the situation. Terim said while he is not panicking yet, he intends to utilize Sinan Gumus as back-up and will alternate between the two if needed.

Gumus, the 24-year-old forward, has made just 8 Super Lig appearances this season, all as a substitute, and has no league goals to his name.

Terim and his team will be hoping they won’t suffer anymore injuries as they wait for Eren Derdiyok to recover.
