Galatasaray interested in Lyon left-back

Galatasaray have begun looking for their new left-back as they seek to solve their ongoing problem in that department.

Lyon’s Fernando Marcal has been identified as one of their first candidates to reinforce the left-back position in Galatasaray’s defense. The Brazilian has been closely watched by the club as they prepare to make an official inquiry about the availability of the player.

If he were to join the Istanbul club he wouldn’t be the first Brazilian to do so; Galatasaray have two Brazilians in Mariano and Maicon who have been the core of the Cim Bom defense this campaign.

Marcal has prior Turkish Super Lig experience so it wouldn’t entirely foreign surroundings for him, having played for Gaziantepspor in 2015-2016.

Marcal has been at Lyon since the beginning of the 2017-2018 season and has made 24 appearances and assisted 3 goals for his club so far.
