Turkey aids Chilean club Deportivo Palestino

Turkey have gotten a big boost to their reputation in Chile after a state aid agency has helped to renovate a nursing home and build football pitches for football club Deportivo Palestino.

The Turkish Co-operation and Co-ordination Agency (TIKA) released a statement announcing their support and involvement in improving conditions for football players in Chile by building two grass pitches for football club Deportivo Palestino. The club was founded by Palestinian immigrants in 1920.

Turkey’s ambassador in Chile, Gulin Dinc, said these pitches will provide better conditions for the players to train and reach their potential. He also said it is his hope that the young players go on to international success.

The club’s president, Jorge Uauy, gave a speech thanking Turkey and saying the project will bring the people of both countries closer together.
