Giuliano responds to transfer speculation

Fenerbahce’s Brazilian player Giuliano has responded to claims of a transfer away from Istanbul this summer.

Giuliano, one of Fenerbahce’s most important players this season, has been linked with a big-money move this summer due to his consistent performances.

He had the following to say on the matter;

“I saw the Bayer Leverkusen claim on the internet. I had no idea. Nobody contacted me. It’s just speculation. However, I do want to play in Europe. This is my career goal. Especially in Central Europe. Germany is one of the places I’d like to play, it’s a place where I can play. Football is a bit different in Italy, for example. I want to progress in my career. It would be good if I had such a chance in the future.”

While the response could be understood as a desire to leave by Fenerbahce’s faithful, the player was quick to set things straight;

“when I say these things, I don’t mean now. I’m not talking about leaving. It’s still my first year here. I’m new signing. I adapted very quickly here, which is good. I’m very happy here and I’ll take it step by step.”

The Brazilian has scored 14 goals this season; an impressive amount for a midfielder.
