Adebayor says he wants to play in Spain

Istanbul Basaksehir striker Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed he wants to play in Spain again.

Emmanuel Adebayor has caused some confusion among Istanbul Basaksehir fans after his comments to the Spanish press regarding his time as a player in Spain.

The 34-year-old was quoted as saying;

“I spent 6 months in Madrid and they were the best days of my career. I experienced nice moments that I can tell my children.” said Adebayor who spent the latter half of the 2010-11 season on loan at Real Madrid.

“You don’t know when your career will end. I’m in Turkey for one year now and we’ll see what happens. I could play in La Liga for a year. I like Spain and the Spanish people. I like their approach.” he explained before talking about his former manager Jose Mourinho.

“He spoke to me often. We had a very good relationship and I learned a lot from him. He was also a joker in the dressing room but it would be different in front of the press.”

The Togo international has scored 13 goals in 28 league matches so far this season.
