Galatasaray striker Gomis wants pay raise – report

The Frenchman had a record-breaking first season at Galatasaray as he lifted the league title.

According to reports from Turkish media, Galatasaray striker Bafetimbi Gomis is looking to get a pay raise to his already lucrative contract.

He is currently paid €3,350,000 per year, excluding performance-based bonuses.

The striker’s representatives have told Galatasaray’s hierarchy he has an offer for €10 million per year from a Chinese club.

The player’s current contract is until 2020 however his camp are using the offer from the Far East as leverage to ask for a salary raise.

The goalscorer wants a salary of €4,500,000 million per year and has spoken once already with the club’s management. There are further talks planned. He has already made himself a favorite within the club with his performances and consistency so it will be interesting to see how the club handle this tricky situation.

The 32-year-old lifted the league title in his first season with Galatasaray and became the league’s top foreign goal scorer of all-time.
