Prandelli: Galatasaray was a mistake

Italian coach Cesare Prandelli said his decision to take charge of Galatasaray was a mistake.

Former Galatasaray manager Cesare Prandelli spoke to Italian press about his managerial career and made some interesting comments regarding his time in Turkey.

The 60-year-old coach resigned from his post as Italy’s manager in June 2014 and a month alter, on July 2014 he was hired to become the manager of Super Lig powerhosue Galatasaray.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian said;

“After Italy, immediately going to Galatasaray was a mistake. I wanted to get back to management right away but that was a bad decision.”

Regarding his compatriot Roberto Mancini’s appointment as Italy manager, he was more positive;

“I congratulate Mancini. It took courage but it was a good decision. He wanted to work with the Italian national team. A lot of people are happy with the decision.”

Cesare had a rough time as manager of Galatasaray; in the 16 matches he managed, he won just six, losing seven of them.

After failing to deliver results, he was let go on November 28th 2014, 147 days after being hired.

He remains as one of the worst performing managers Cim Bom have ever had.
