Trabzonspor dismiss Papy Djilobodji rumours

The Super Lig club have cooled rumours linking them with Sunderland’s defender.

Trabzonspor say they are not interested in Sunderland flop Papy Djilobodji.

The Turkish side have been linked with both Sunderlands’ defender Djilobodji and midfielder Didier Ndong in recent days, and Sunderland are claimed to be keen to offload the pair after they stayed away from pre-season training when the remainder of the squad reported back.

But Trabzonspor’s general coordinator Ozkan Sumer has denied that his club is interested in the 29-year-old Senegalese defender.

Sumer said: “We are not interested in defender Papy Djilobodji of Sunderland, contrary to the claims made in the British press.”
