Ryan Donk: I want to retire at Galatasaray

The Dutch midfielder spoke of his happiness while with the Turkish club and hopes to end his career in Istanbul.

Galatasaray’s midfielder Ryan Donk answered several questions from the press after their training session in Zurich, Switzerland earlier today. He revealed, for the first time ever, that he would like to retire with The Lions.

The 32-year-old has one year left on his contract however due to an extension clause, if he makes 21 appearances during the 2018/19 season his deal will be extended by another year.

“I intend to play 21 games but my goal is to play the entire season. I want to do whatever I can to help the team be successful and if it’s possible, I want to retire at Galatasaray,” he said.

Reminding fans of the upcoming Turkish Super Cup final on August 5th, he said;

“We need to focus on the first important game, the Super Cup game. Everyone wants to play in the Champions League. I’m 32 years old and I’ll be playing in the Champions League for the first time. To experience this happiness, we must all work hard.”
