Former G.Saray president: Gomis’ agent is lying

Dursun Ozbek has responded to claims made by Bafetimbi Gomis’ agent regarding contract promises.

Galatasaray’s former president, Dursun Ozbek, has spoken out publicly against the accusations and claims made by their French goalscorer’s agent, Patrick Mendy.

According to Mendy, the club promised Gomis a pay raise after the end of his first season with the club if he met certain goal targets and objectives.

Ozbek, who was the Super Lig club’s president last summer when they transferred the French star, responded publicly in defense of The Lions saying the agent is not telling the truth.

“We have not made such a commitment to Gomis or his agent. We don’t sign contracts for nothing. If we had made such a promise, it would have been included in the contract. Mendy’s claims are not professional. It would have been written in his contract if such promises were made,” he explained.

The response is the latest in the issue surrounding Gomis and the club’s management.

Last week, Mendy publicly claimed his client was promised a wage increase at the end of his first season.
