Akhisarspor’s Seleznyov suspended for 4 games

The Ukrainian striker has been handed a four-game suspension by the Turkish Football Federation.

Akhisarspor’s in-form striker Yevgen Seleznyov has been suspended for four Super Lig games, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced on Thursday.

The decision comes after the player was involved in a unsportsmanlike incident on August 20th during a Super Lig clash with Rizespor. The 33-year-old was caught on camera spitting on an opponent after a scuffle on the pitch.

He was sent off with a red card in the 45th minute of that game after the referee reviewed the incident using the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.

In addition to the four game suspension, he received a 13,000 Turkish Lira (TL) fine.
