Hugo Rodallega wants to retire in Colombia

The Colombian striker will retire in his homeland when his time in Turkey is up.

Trabzonspor striker Hugo Rodallega spoke to Colombian media about his future and gave some interesting answers.

He has been in decent form so far having scored 3 goals this season already.

“I never set goal targets before the season starts. My aim is to always score more than the previous season,” he said regarding his goal tally.

He also addressed the club’s objectives.

“We are striving to be champions. At the very least, to qualify for Europe. I do whatever I can to make this a reality.”

The 33-year-old hinted at his retirement plans when asked about the matter.

“I’m not thinking about retirement. I will continue to play until I can’t anymore. I will retire in my own country. I want to score goals for the club that opened the doors for me. I had talks with the club. But I still have a contract in Turkey. The Colombian teams can’t pay the transfer fees requested in Turkey and that’s why no move has taken place.”

This could be the striker’s last season, whose deal expires at the end of the current season.
