Akhisarspor sack manager after 5 games

Akigo have parted ways with coach Safet Susic after a terrible start to the new season.

Akhisarspor have terminated Safet Susic’s contract with immediate effect. The club’s decision was announced on their website with a short statement.

“We have decided to terminate our agreement with our coach Safet Susic. We wish him success in his career.”

Having been appointed in June, he didn’t even have three full months in charge.

The club find themselves at the bottom of the table, with 2 draws and 3 losses after 5 games.

The Bosnian legend guided the club to a famous Turkish Super Cup victory over Galatasaray last month but he failed to build on that performance going into the new campaign.

Akhisarspor are making their European debut this season, having qualifed for the Europa League after lifting the Turkish Cup last season.

However, they will need to find a replacement sooner rather than later as their first game approaches on September 20 against FC Krasnodar.
