Gervinho didn’t want to go to Turkey – agent

The Ivory Coast international rejected an approach from Galatasaray this summer.

Former Arsenal forward Gervinho had the opportunity to join Galatasaray but rejected their offer, according to the player’s agent.

The 31-year-old’s agent revealed Galatasaray were interested in his client’s services.

“Galatasaray was very interested. They tried everything to sign Gervinho but he didn’t want to go to Turkey,” he said.

The experienced player also had offers from France.

“I also had talks with Rennes and Bordeaux but Parma were slightly ahead for me. Although, Rennes have a very good project and I could have joined them,” the Ivory Coast star explained.

After leaving Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune, he joined Parma on a three-year deal this past summer.
