Sofiane Feghouli reveals transfer decision

The Algerian international says he has no plans to leave Galatasaray.

Galatasaray midfielder Sofiane Feghouli has had a troubled start to the new season with just 17 minutes of game time in the league.

The Algerian star, who didn’t feature in the team’s clash with Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this week, says he wants to stay.

“I love Galatasaray and I want to stay. I’m too young to play in Qatar or Saudi Arabia. If I were to leave I would stay in Europe,” he said.

Earlier in the summer, he rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia preferring to remain in Istanbul. However, he has been frozen out of the first team by Fatih Terim.

The 29-year-old signed for the Super Lig champions last year from Premier League side West Ham United for €4.25 million.

He is one of the clubs highest earners with a guaranteed salary of €3,850,000 per season.

As part of the agreement, the club pays €72,000 per year for his housing costs and provides 8 business-class air fare tickets per year.

He has scored 7 goals and made 10 assists in the 34 appearances he has made for the club thus far.
