Trabzonspor debt revealed

The Black Sea Storm are struggling financially due to their overwhelming debt, which is a staggering €168 million.

Trabzonspor held their 43rd general assembly meeting at the club’s Kadiz Ozcan Youth Center on Friday during which club vice president Hayrettin Hacisalihoglu revealed how much debt the club is carrying.

In attendance were many board of directors and administration staff including club president Ahmet Agaoglu.

Speaking on behalf of the board of directors, Hacisalihoglu presented the latest figures from their annual report.

The club’s debt is currently 1 billion 76 million 205 Turkish Lira (approximately €168.4 million).

President Agaoglu gave a short speech after Hacisalihoglu and made it clear the administration’s number one priority is to reduce the debt as quickly as possible and to lift the financial burden the club is facing.

He also reminded supporters that the club cannot afford to make major signings involving high transfer fees due to the predicament the club finds itself in.
