Fener’s Yassine Benzia removed from squad

The Algerian international has been cut from the first team by Koeman.

Fenerbahce caretaker Erwin Koeman said the decision to exclude Yassine Benzie from first team duties was his decision, not the club’s.

The 24-year-old was taken off for the second half of the Galatasaray-Fenerbahce derby last Friday, which prompted him to post a profanity-filled rant on social media after the game.

Koeman didn’t take the acting out lightly and decided to take matters into his own hands.

The French-born midfielder, who took to Instagram to apologize for his unprofessional behaviour, is currently on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side Lille.

According to local reports, the player’s loan could be terminated early after failing to impress with his performances.
