Konyaspor appoint Aykut Kocaman as manager

The Anatolian Eagle have announced their new manager in the form of Aykut Kocaman.

Konyaspor have quickly found a replacement for their former manager Riza Calimbay. In a short video on the club’s social media account, the Super Lig club announced they’ve appointed Aykut Kocaman as their new first team manager.

The 53-year-old coach has penned a two-and-a-half year contract with the club.

An official signing ceremony and press conference will be held on Monday.

Kocaman, who was let go by Fenerbahce this past summer, returns to familiar ground as this will be his third managerial stint with the club.

He managed the club for for the 2006/2007 season and a second, more successful time from October 2014 until June 2017, during which he lifted the Turkish Cup with Konyaspor in 2016.
