Galatasaray’s Sinan Gumus out for 8 weeks

The Lions will be without Sinan Gumus for almost 2 months after the player picked up an injury in training.

Galatasaray can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries this season. Striker Sinan Gumus has been ruled out for 6 to 8 weeks by the club’s medical staff after tests revealed he suffered a tear and hemorrhage in his right upper back muscles.

The 24-year-old was taking part of the training scrimmage against the club’s Under-21 side yesterday ahead of their Super Lig clash against Konyaspor but was forced to come off after picking up the injury.

Today, the club’s medical staff made the revelation much to the dismay of the club’s supporters and first team manager Fatih Terim.

Galatasaray have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks with Eren Derdiyok, Yuto Nagatomo, Emre Akbaba, Fernando and Ozan Kabak all sidelined due to injuries. In addition to this, midfielders Ryan Donk and Garry Rodrigues are suspended for several week due to their involvement in the melee against Fenerbahce players earlier this month.

The Super Lig champions are now left with just one fit striker, Henry Onyekuru.
