Galatasaray’s Akbaba to return in January

The Turkish midfielder has been making good progress since his injury at the beginning of the season.

Galatasaray midfielder Emre Akbaba is almost ready to return to action, according to the club’s medical staff. The player, a new signing for The Lions, suffered a fractured metatarsal in his left foot during Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory against Erzurumspor in September.

Akbaba signed for the defending Super Lig champions in the summer of 2018 from Alanyaspor for €4 million and settled in to his new club well, scoring 2 goals and making 3 assists in his first 7 appearances before the untimely injury.
