Fener, Besiktas want Malatyaspor’s Ciftpinar

The two Istanbul heavyweights have their eyes on the Turkish defender.

Malatyaspor defender Sadik Ciftpinar has caught the attention of two Istanbul giants, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

The 25-year-old, who turns 26 on January 1st, has been one of Malatyaspor’s key players this season, helping them to reach third place in the league.

Besiktas coach Senol Gunes has personally requested the club’s administration sign the talented defender, according to reports. However, they are competing with one of their fierce rivals, Fenerbahce, for the player’s signature who are also interested. The Yellow Canaries are reported to be willing to pay more than his current value in order to get their man.

Ciftpinar, a Galatasaray youth academy product, has been with Malatyaspor for the past 4 seasons. He has featured in 16 of the 17 games his team have played so far.

The defender is reported to be interested in making the move to Istanbul for the second half of the season although for which side is unknown.
