Bursaspor can make 2 transfers – president

The Green Crocodiles will be cautious during the January transfer window, according to the club’s president Ali Ay.

Bursaspor president Ali Ay spoke to reporters at the club’s stadium during the unveiling of new, upgraded seats called Goldsit.

New luxury seats at the stadium.

Underlining that the club is struggling financially, Ay revealed the club’s plans for the transfer period in January.

“Of course, we will discuss and meet over these decisions. But I want to clean up this year first. Believe me, the money that comes in vanishes before it reaches our coffers. We spoke with our coach and he said ‘if you’re going to buy a player buy a good one or don’t buy one at all.’ He is right. Our coach wants a big name player. he wants a player that will come and play in the starting 11 immediately. As you know, the transfer window in the middle of the season is difficult and risky.

“We still have time until January 30th. We want to make 1-2 transfers and have them join our team’s training camp. If we do buy, we will buy 2 players at most or we won’t buy at all. We also want quality players,” the president explained, before adding that they want a winger and a striker.

He also revealed that the club received multiple offers for Stephane Badji but were rejected.

“We received calls for Stephane Badji but they presented very low offers. There is a release clause in Badji’s contract specifically for Arab clubs, which is €4 million. We’ll see, however, nothing is certain at the moment.”

The new seats have monitors in the headrest.
