Garry Rodrigues to join Al-Ittihad for €10m

The quick winger is on the verge of signing for the Saudi Arabian club.

Galatasaray have accepted an offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad for their pacey winger Garry Rodrigues, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The Arab club initially offered €8 million for the winger but after negotiations The Lions demanded €10 million. The two clubs have agreed and now the player is in talks with Al-Ittihad, who are coached by former Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic.

Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim confirmed the news on IGTV.

“We gave Garry permission to conduct transfer talks. We don’t know the outcome yet but if they reach an agreement he will be one of the names we part ways with,” he announced.

The Super Lig giants have announced the news on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) as required by law.

Due to a future transfer fee clause in the agreement between Galatasaray and the Cape Verdean winger’s previous team, PAOK, the Turkish club will have to pay 20% of the transfer fee to the Greek club.
