Fenerbahce sign Malatyaspor defender Ciftpinar

The Yellow Canaries have made their first signing this month; Turkish defender Sadik Ciftpinar.

Fenerbahce have struck a deal with Malatyaspor for the transfer of their talented defender Sadik Ciftpinar, the latter club’s president confirmed on Friday.

The 26-year-old has been one of the most sought after players in the Super Lig since the beginning of the season due to his consistent performances, with Galatasaray and Besiktas also having shown interest.

Fenerbahce have beaten them to the punch, however.

“We’ve reached an agreement with Fenerbahce for the transfer of Sadik Ciftpinar. There are small things left but we are handling them. We will reveal the details later,” Malatyaspor’s president Adil Gevrek revealed.

The transfer is reported to include a €1.5 million fee plus two players; Fener’s Baris Alici and Yigithan Guveli. Alici has joined Malatyaspor on a six-month loan whereas Guveli has made the switch permanent.

Ciftpinar has agreed to a three-and-a-half year contract with the following compensation;

For the second half of the season, Fenerbahce will pay him 2.25 million Turkish Lira (TL).

For 2019/20 season – 5.5 million TL
For 2020/21 season – 6.5 million TL
For 2021/22 season – 7.5 million TL
