Galatasaray sign Kasimpasa ace Diagne for €12.8m

The Lions have splashed the cash on Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne, signing the league’s top goalscorer.

Galatasaray have pulled off one of their most expensive signings in recent times. The defending Super Lig champions have reached an agreement with Kasimpasa for their in-form striker Mbaye Diagne. Galatasaray have confirmed the transfer on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on Wednesday evening.

The transfer fee is reported to be a hefty €12.8 million. According to reports in Turkey, Galatasaray have agreed to pay €10 million up front with the remaining €2.8 million in three installments depending on certain achievements such as if the team win the league title. The agreement is reported to also include a 25% future transfer fee clause.

Update:

The 27-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with The Lions that will see him tied to the club until May 2023.

His wages have been declared as follows;

2018/2019 season – €1.15 million

2019/2020 season – €2.35 million

2020/2021 season – €2.35 million

2021/2022 season – €2.4 million

2022/2023 season – €2.4 million

He has chosen to wear the number 91 on his uniform.

A photo leaked by a prominent reporter in Turkey has been circulating, showing the reported figure being transferred between the two clubs’ banks accounts.

In Turkish: A transfer of 10,000,000 EUR from Galatasaray to Kasimpasa’s Denizbank account will take place today.
