Fenerbahce defender Skrtel banned for 3 games

The veteran defender has been suspended for three game for violent conduct during Fenerbahce’s Turkish Cup clash against Umraniyespor last week.

Fenerbahce centre-back Martin Skrtel has been suspended for three games, the Professional Football Disciplinary Committe (PFDK) announced on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old was sent off for elbowing an opposition player in the 68th minute of the game.

The PFDK have handed the Slovak defender a 13,000 Turkish Lira fine in addition to the three game suspension.

Umraniyespor were also fined 20,000 Turkish Lira for related on-field disturbances after the incident involving Skrtel.

Fenerbahce were knocked out of the Turkish Cup by the second division outfit with a score of 2-0 on aggregate.
