Mehmet Ekici ruled out for 3 weeks

The Turkish midfielder picked up an injury over the weekend which will cause him to be out of action for 2-3 weeks.

Fenerbahce will be without their central midfielder Mehmet Ekici for the rest of the month after the club’s medical staff have ruled out the player with an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old was injured in the second half of the Kayserispor-Fenerbahce fixture on Friday, February 8 during which he had to be substituted off.

According to the statement released by the club, he will on the sidelines for 2-3 weeks as he recovers.

“As a result of a blow to the outer part of his right ankle during the game against Kayserispor, Mehmet Ekici has suffered partial tearing and bleeding in the ankle joint. He has begun treatment,” the statement read.

The tackle which led to Ekici’s injury.
