Fenerbahce raise 15 million in 24 hours

The Yellow Canaries are running a fund-raising campaign in order to survive.

The newly-launched Fenerbahce campaign to raise funds has brought the club in excess of 15 million Turkish Lira (TL) within 24 hours after it was launched according to the statement published on the club’s official website on Saturday.

Club president Ali Koc announced the campaign last month while visiting Germany, asking every club supporter to donate any amount they can afford as the club seeks “economic independence.”

According to the figures reported by the club, over 300,000 fans have joined their campaign since it kicked off on April 4, which has been named “Fener Ol” (Be a Fener, in English).

The Super Lig giants have the highest level of debt out of all Turkish clubs, with their most recent debt level revealed to be around €675 million.
