Man Utd, Lille tracking Trabzonspor duo

The Black Sea Storm are attracting interest with their homegrown talent.

Trabzonspor midfielder duo Yusuf Yazici and Abdulkadir Omur are being tracked by clubs such as Manchester United and Lille, according to Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu.

Speaking to reporters after watching his team defeat Kayserispor 4-2 at Medical Park Stadium in Trabzon on Monday evening, Agaoglu revealed Man Utd and Lille had scouts present in the stadium to assess the two players.

Trabzonspor president Agaoglu claims Man United and Lille are keeping tabs on his players.

“Several clubs have been watching our players for a long time. They want all of our players. Today, Lille and Manchester United watched them. If leading clubs from Europe’s leading leagues are watching Trabzonspor, that alone is a source of pride for us,” Agaoglu said moments after the Trabzonspor-Kayserispor game ended.

Yazici and Omur have been linked with a move abroad regularly throughout the season but a transfer for either player is yet to materialize.

Trabzonspor have been performing well this season under the guidance of coach Unal Karaman, who has led the team to fourth place in the Super Lig with 56 points.

With just three games remaining, the Black Sea Storm are on course to earn a spot in next season’s Europa League qualifiers.
