Turkish international Olcay Sahan has left Trabzonspor and is officially a free agent after the player announced his departure on social media to the public on Friday.
The 31-year-old has called time on his two-and-a-half year stay at the Northeastern club.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the month and the club not seeking to renew his contract, the two parties have amicably parted ways.
“Since the first day I arrived, I wore the Trabzonspor uniform with pride and honor. I fought until the last drop of sweat to make the Trabzonspor supporters happy every minute I played. I sacrificed and did my best whenever I could. I would like to thank all those who supported me in good days and the bad days. I have very nice memories here. Now, it’s time to say goodbye. Goodbye,” the player’s farewell message read.
The Germany-born midfielder featured 21 times for Trabzonspor this campaign during which he scored 2 goals and made 5 assists.
Luiz Ibanez has also left Trabzonspor after the club decided not to offer the Argentinian a new deal.
Club president Ahmet Agaoglu confirmed the two departures in addition to revealing that they have offered a new contract to striker Hugo Rodallega, whose current deal expires at the end of month but the Colombian is yet to agree to the terms of the new deal.
