Trabzonspor coach to sign 2-year contract

Trabzonspor coach Unal Karaman will remain as the team’s boss going into the next season.

Trabzonspor will continue with Unal Karaman as their head coach, the club’s president Ahemt Agaoglu confirmed on Thursday.

The Turkish coach’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the month but a new, improved deal will be offered to Karaman which will tie him to Trabzonspor for the next two seasons.

“We will continue with our coach for the next two years. As the club’s president, I say this openly; we will be together with our coach for the next two years. If there are no objections out of the blue, we will sign a deal. From our side, we won’t make issues of small details. We will continue with our coach,” Agaoglu confirmed on Thursday.

Karaman has been one of the more impressive coaches of the 2018-2019 season after leading Trabzonspor to a fourth-place finish while having his team play a vibrant, attacking style of football.

In the 40 games he took charge this season (including the Turkish Cup), Karaman’s record is 21 wins, 11 draws and 8 losses.
