Sofiane Feghouli responds to transfer speculation

The Algerian international says he will remain with Galatasaray next season.

Galatasaray winger Sofiane Feghouli has assured the club’s supporters that he will remain a club player for the upcoming season during an interview with beIN Sports Turkey.

During the interview, Feghouli assessed his performance with the Turkish champions during the season and said he is looking forward to winning more trophies with the red-and-yellow jersey.

“I completed the season with my club Galatasaray. After a little bit of rest now, I will play for my country Algeria in the African Nations Cup. I had a nice season with Galatasaray. We had a good season finale and won two trophies. I left behind a good season. It’s not easy to accomplish your goals in Turkey but we managed it,” he said.

“I’m very, very happy. Although I had problems in the first half of the season, I solved these problems with my good performances on the field. We won both, the league and the cup. My performances with Galatasaray lead to me being called up for the national team,” he added.

While acknowledging transfer links with other clubs made him proud, Feghouli said he remain a Galatasaray player next season.

“I live in a beautiful country and city. We’ve won the league championship for two years. I believe we will be a competitive team in the European competitions. For me, continuity is important and I will be in Galatasaray next year.”
