Trabzonspor advance to Europa League group stage

The Black Sea Storm have knocked out Greece’s AEK Athens to earn their spot in the group stage of the 2019-2020 UEFA Europa League.

Trabzonspor have achieved their first objective of the season after they advanced to the Group Stage of the 2019-2020 UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening by eliminating Greek club AEK Athens on aggregate.

Despite losing 2-0 in the second leg on Thursday at home, Trabzonspor emerged victorious thanks to the away goal advantage due to their 3-1 victory in Athens last week.

Marko Livaja and Petros Mantalos scored in the 24th and 30th minute, respectively, for AEK Athens on Thursday to give them a 2-0 victory but it was not enough to see them through to the Group Stage.
