Trabzonspor are in the search for a central defender and the latest name they have added to their shortlist is Chelsea’s promising youngster Ethan Ampadu.
The Turkish Super Lig club have made an official inquiry about the availability of the 19-year-old.
Trabzonspor are reported to be interested in taking the player on an initial loan transfer.
Ampadu is currently on loan with Bundesliga outfit Leipzig but is struggling to break into the first team. The Wales international has made just two appearances for the German club and is reported to be looking to move due to being unhappy with his limited opportunities.
Having reached an agreement with Chelsea coach Eddie Newton last week, the club are hoping to convince Ampadu to make the move through Newton — the English coach has overseen Ampadu’s training at Chelsea.
Ampadu has been rated as one of the most promising central defenders and despite his young age, he has already made 9 appearances for the Welsh senior national team.
