Arsenal after Ozyakup

Arsenal have made Ozyakup one of their top transfer targets.

Reports from Turkey are claiming Arsenal have offered a contract to 25-year-old Besiktas captain Ozyakup. The midfielder has entered the final six months of his contract and has expressed his desire to move abroad.

Ozyakup spent part of his youth years in the Arsenal academy however he was eventually sold to Besiktas for approximately £500,000. Prior to moving to Arsenal, the Turkish international had trained with AZ Alkmar’s academy.

Arsene Wenger is rumoured to have been impressed with the development and progress of the player and seems him fitting perfectly with his tactical setup.

The Besiktas captain has made tremendous progress and has made 208 first team appearances so far in addition to the 30 caps his has with the Turkish national team.

It is expected that Ozyakup will leave the Eagles this summer for free which would be a big loss for Besiktas who value the player highly.
