Demba Ba scores on debut

Goztepe’s biggest transfer proves his worth.

Demba Ba is back in Turkey and his debut couldn’t have been much better. The forward gave his team the lead against Osmanlispor by scoring in his first appearance for the club to make it 1-0 in the 23rd minute of the match.

The 32-year-old’s last goal in the Turkish Super Lig was when he played for Besiktas back in April 2017 against Basaksehir.

The forward was brought as a direct replacement for Adis Jahovic, who was transferred to Konyaspor in the January transfer window. Jahovic was their top goalscorer this season but so far it seems as if the Goztepe management have made the right choice with Demba Ba.

The Senegal forward’s last club was Chinese Super League powerhouse Shanghai Shenhua.
