Gomis catches up to Burak

French striker Bafetimbi Gomis has moved up the goal-scoring charts in the Super Lig to tie Burak for first place.

Fan favourite Gomis is consistently performing at a top level since his move to Galatasaray in the summer. The long-haired striker scored a brace tonight within the first 20 minutes of the fixture against Antalyaspor. The other goalscorer in the match was Feghouli who made it 3-0 as Cim Bom overpowered their opponents

Prior to tonight’s match, he was in second place with 15 goals while Burak Yilmaz held first place with 17. Burak has been out with an injury for a few weeks and thus is at a disadvantage. Adis Jahovic is third with 14 goals, just 3 shy from first place.  The race to claim the title of Goalscorer of the Season is heating up.

Galatasaray have moved into the much-coveted first place, overtaking local rivals Fenerbahce and Basaksehir.

The Super Lig has opened up again as only 1 point separates the first and second placed teams. Fenerbahce and Besiktas are close behind with 41 and 40 points respectively.
