Fatih Terim refused to let Derdiyok leave

Basel made a bid for the player however Fatih Terim did not want to let him leave.

Galatasaray’s striker Eren Derdiyok had a final day transfer offer for him rejected by Fatih Terim, according to reports in Turkey. FC Basel of Switzerland were interested in signing the player and made a €3 million bid to bring him back to his homeland.

Derdiyok was reported to be keen on making the switch however Fatih Terim was not willing to leave his team with just Bafetimbi Gomis as its only striker. The club are short in the striker department and it would have been a big risk to continue the season without a capable backup for Gomis.

So far this season, Eren has scored 4 goals and made 4 assists in 22 appearances for Cim Bom.

The Swiss winter transfer window closed today on February 16th.
