Aatif: ‘We played against an aggressive team’

Fenerbahce took major blow to their Super Lig title race as they lost 3-2 at home to Akhisarspor today.

Fenerbahce’s Aatif spoke to reporters after the match and tried to remain optimistic about his team’s chances of winning silverware this season.

“It’s tough to speak after matches like these. We played against a very aggressive team which created difficulties for us. With the score the way it was, it looked like a comeback was going to be tough. I’m sure the players felt the same. We still have 10 matches left and Fenerbahce has the strength to do well.”, said the Morrocan international.

Aatif came on as a substitute in the second-half and scored Fenerbahce’s second goal in the 67th minute. However, it wasn’t meant to be as Akhisar held on for the win.

The loss means Fenerbahce have dropped down to 4th place with 44 points, 6 behind league leaders Galatasaray.
