1.Lig match abandoned due to power outage

Spor Toto 1.Lig fixture between Ankaragucu and Adanaspor has been abandoned after the stadium’s electricity generator broke down.

The 1.Lig match between Ankaragucu and Adanaspor has been abandoned after the lights went out in the stadium due to a generator malfunction. The match kicked off normally however in the 9th minute of the bout, the electricity went out in certain parts of the stadium.

Referee Bulent Birincioglu stopped the match for about 6 minutes and called over the two team captains to discuss the situation. The players and referee agreed to continue playing despire the lack of lighting.

However, in the 39th minute of the match, the stadium went completely dark. The fans took the opportunity to put on a visual show with the flashes of their mobile phones.

The referee pointed the players to their dressing rooms and after a short while, made the announcement over the speaker system that the match has been postponed.

The Turkish Football Federation has announced the match will be re-played tomorrow at 2.30PM.
